Last night, I ventured south of Dallas in to the Oak Cliff neighborhood and Bishop Arts District. I’ve only seen Good things happen in this neighborhood – good food, good art, good cyclists, and the list goes on. Last night was nothing less than expected with a cookout hosted by local musician Dustin Cavazos. In the backyard of Studio 410, Cavazos set up a pavement stage. Food from Oak Cliff eatery El Padrinos and a makeshift bar kept locals satisfied while they mingled and enjoyed Cavazos’ music. Live graffiti art was also in the mix by the infamous Boog, and Stay Gold, an up-and-coming Dallas t-shirt brand, was selling their first series of t’s. Stay Gold was also featuring a special t-shirt in honor of Cavazos himself (and any cyclist who rode their bike to the event got $5 off)!
The vibe throughout the night was 100% and the mixture of different people was humbling. I was stoked to see so many locals show love for their art and music scene. Speaking of – Paris P. from AD.d+ was showing The Good Child major love in the “Respect” tee! Check out AD.d+ perform “Under” with Cavazos, along with a couple of images of the graffiti art, below:
